Bert was born on December 20, 1955 and raised in Hartsville, SC. He married the former Kathy Bunn from Orangeburg, SC on January 6, 1979. They have two married children. Son, Hugh and his wife Mandy, have a daughter, Hadley, live in Charleston, SC. Daughter, Sarah Anne and her husband Shawn Daley, have a son, Carter Welch, live in Lancaster, SC. Bert graduated in 1978 from Erskine College with a BA in Behavioral Sciences and Social Work. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC as well as his Doctor of Ministry degree in Christian Ethics & Urban Missions. He is the founding Pastor of Covenant Baptist Church which was established on October 9, 1994.

Tim serves as Minister of Spiritual Growth and Senior Adults at Covenant. Tim is a native of Wilmington, NC, and has served as full-time church staff in SC, NC and VA since 1991. He received his B.A. in Creative Arts and Music from the University of North Carolina, at Wilmington, in 1986. He earned a Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1990. He and Diane, his wife, were married in 1990, and they have two children. Family is a high priority for Tim. Purpose, Process, and Passion are the three important aspects of Tim's role at Covenant.

Jason Burley joined the staff in August 2008 as Minister of Music and Worship. He graduated in 2001 from Anderson College (now University) with a B.A. in Music. He previously served 7 years as Minister of Music at, ironically, Covenant Baptist in Anderson, S.C. He and his wife Heather were married in 2002. They have two daughters, Camryn and Ella.

Stephanie was born on March 20, 1977 in Gaffney, SC, and grew up all over NC: Hendersonville, Monroe, Polkton, Thomasville, Peachland and Boone. She married her college sweetheart, Galen Williams from Monroe, NC on June 19, 1999. They have two sons, Frazier and Turner. Stephanie graduated in July 1999 from UNCC with a BS degree in Communication Studies with emphasis in Public Relations and minors in Journalism and General Business. Stephanie joined the staff at Covenant on July 17, 2006. She enjoys reading, meeting new people, going out on dates with her husband, rooting for the Happy Appys, and finding new and exciting ways to introduce Christ to the kids of Covenant.

My wife, Sarah Anne, and I have a one-year old son named Carter Welch. We also have a white Bull-Terrier dog named Sugar. Our desire is to raise up a generation of kingdom people who know God's truth, grow new disciples, and go beyond the walls of the church to bring restoration to Lancaster.

She married Buddy Rutledge in 1998 and has one grown child, Greta Baker, two grown step-children, Steven & Nikki Rutledge, and one grandchild, Bailey Baker. Pat graduated in May 1976 from Winthrop College with a BS degree in Business Administration. She joined the staff at Covenant in October 1994. She enjoys camping at the beach and spending time with her family at the river.

Tracy was born March, 27, 1965 in Columbia, South Carolina. She moved to Lancaster in October, 2002. She is married to Tony and they have three children, Sarah, Caroline and John. Tracy graduated from Midlands Technical College in May, 1986 with an Associates Degree in Secretarial Science. She joined the staff at Covenant in January, 2010. She enjoys reading, going to the beach and watching her children play sports.
